Virtual Open Systems in NANCY

Virtual Open Systems (VOS) is a partner of the NANCY european project, which aims to introduce a secure and intelligent architecture for the beyond the fifth generation (B5G) wireless network. Within NANCY, VOS leads the project’s standardization efforts, working to align its technologies with core industry standards so that their compatibility and future adoption is ensured.

On the technical front, VOS contributes its strong expertise in designing and implementing high-performance virtualization solutions across diverse scenarios. Specifically, VOS has developed a novel virtualization solution optimized for ARMv8 devices operating at the edge domain of the NANCY architecture. This solution encompasses two key VOS components: the VOSySmonitor firmware and the vManager solution. Together, they enable a safe and also efficient execution of heterogeneous workloads in edge environments.

Also, VOS has contributed with further re-enforcing trust at the edge, through the implementation of a novel solution that acts as Secure Data Cache for decentralized V2X scenarios. This solution is built upon OP-TEE and VOSySmonitor, providing secure storage capabilities for sensitive data.

Finally, VOS is actively involved in two NANCY in-lab testbeds, where these novel technologies are being validated as part of the broader B5G infrastructure.
