The DREAMS research project aims at developing a cross-domain real-time architecture and design tools for networked complex systems where application subsystems of different criticality, executing on networked multi-core chips, are supported. DREAMS leverages multi-core technology for a hierarchical distributed platform for mixed-criticality applications combining the chip- and cluster-levels. This system perspective is established by virtualization, platform models and tools and integrated resource management resulting in higher flexibility, adaptability and energy efficiency. The virtualization technologies for shared resources will ensure that non-critical functions can never corrupt critical functions on the same platform.
